2024 Irving J. Shapiro Imaging Conference

CUS is pleased to once again host this annual competition in conjunction with the April 3rd Urologic Complications meeting at the University Club of Chicago. If you are interested in participating, please review the following information before registering:

  • Each participant will be required to (briefly) present their image during the April 3rd CUS meeting. The case presentation and slides should not give away the diagnosis, but simply entice the audience into providing a diagnosis.

  • All images (x-rays, CT scans, ultrasound studies, etc.) are to be presented in Power Point format only. A presentation schedule will be distributed ahead of time.

  • Each participant will be expected to show only one or two “pertinent” films, CT “cuts”, etc., that demonstrate the pathology.

  • All cases must have surgically confirmed tissue diagnosis. Pertinent slides of laboratory data and pathology can and should be used.

  • The contest will start around noon on 4/3. A schedule of presentations will be distributed ahead of time.

  • Submissions will be grouped into one of the following categories:

    • mass lesions of the upper urinary tract

    • pelvic mass lesions

    • hydronephrosis

    • pediatrics

    • miscellaneous

  • Resident winners will receive cash prizes!
